The process

No two occasions are the same. Coverage is shaped entirely around the timings and requirements of the family whether commencing at home, at the service or later in the day. The objective is to be present without intrusion, creating a record that is both accurate and respectful.

Understanding Requirements


Prior to the day, a discussion with the family and/or funeral directors will confirm the scope of coverage, key elements to include and exclude. This ensures clarity from the outset.

Commencement of Coverage


Often begins just prior to the service, such as at home, a private gathering or another location of significance. Timings are coordinated to align with the planned schedule.

At the Service


Discreet photography and static video recording of the service including readings, speeches and musical performances. All undertaken without disrupting proceedings.

Subsequent Gatherings


Photography of gatherings following the service, such as a burial, reception, wake, focusing on authentic interactions and relevant details.

Special Locations


Photography at locations of personal importance such as a favourite place, memorial site, resting place or providing an alternative form of remembrance.

Post-Event Production


Photographs and video are edited and supplied in a secure, private gallery. Families are in full control who can view and share content.

Coverage and Pricing

Coverage is shaped around family plans and what feels most important to capture. This service includes up to four hours, which is often enough to cover the most meaningful parts of the day. Photography and video are provided together as one quiet, thoughtful package that fits in with your pace and priorities.

Pricing is simple and time based. If more time is needed, extra hours are £100 each and can be added in advance or on the day required.

This service is intended as a guide with a baseline price. If you have something specific in mind or would like to adjust anything a tailored plan can be created around exactly what is needed.

Booking Process

The first step in the process is to get in touch to discuss availability. We’ll have a brief call or email to confirm what you’d like covered, the timings, locations and any recording preferences. I’ll then send a clear quote and a simple summary of the service.

If you’d like to go ahead we can sort the payments privately or run them through the funeral directors.

I always allow cancellation (without cost) right up until the evening before the occasion. It is a decision that is not taken lightly and I like to give maximum time for clients to be sure and comfortable that we proceed.

Before the day we’ll confirm the schedule and the on the day contact details, with a quick check in by email, phone and liaising with the funeral directors. Your photographs and any recordings are delivered in a private online gallery within 14 days, usually sooner.

Yes, of course. We’ll spend a few minutes agreeing what matters to you and what you’d prefer to keep private, and I’ll send a short written plan so everything feels clear before the day.

Many venues have their own guidance on photography and recording. With your permission, I can check this with the funeral director or the venue in advance, so there are no surprises on the day.

If you’d like them. We’ll choose a quiet moment and keep them simple and quick so the day keeps its natural flow. If you’d rather avoid posed photographs, we’ll focus on candid moments instead.

I use a fixed camera on a tripod, placed discreetly and set before the service begins. It records from one position with clear, consistent sound. There is no roaming footage unless required and I do not conduct interviews.

Yes. Coverage can include time at home, the service, the burial or crematorium, and time together afterwards. We’ll plan the timings so travel feels simple and unhurried.

You’ll receive a private online gallery within 14 days. You can share the link with family and friends, download the files and return to the gallery whenever you’re ready.

That’s alright. I’ll adapt within the booked time and keep you informed. If you need longer we can add hours if I’m available and I’ll confirm any extra cost before we extend.

Yes. We can visit a favourite location or memorial as part of your booking or arrange a separate visit if that suits you better. It’s a gentle way to create an additional, lasting record.

Travel within one hour of Todmorden is included. I’m happy to travel further and will confirm any additional travel costs in advance so everything is clear.
